KINGS OF MACEDON. Perseus, 179-168 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 32 mm, 16.77 g, 12 h), Attic standard, Pella or Amphipolis. Zoilos, magistrate, circa 174-173. Diademed head of Perseus to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ / ΠEΡΣEΩΣ Eagle with spread wings standing right on thunderbolt; above, monogram of ΖΩ; to right, monogram of ME; between the eagle's legs, monogram of EY; all within oak wreath; in exergue, plow to right. Boston MFA 720. HGC 3.1, 1091. Mamroth, Perseus, 4. SNG Copenhagen 1266. Lightly toned and with a fine portrait. Minor marks, otherwise, good very fine.
